Other Stories:
September 26 '09 -- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - The English cast has finally been announced. Disappointingly Aaron Dismuke will not be reprising his role of Alphonse Elric, instead the role will be filled by Maxey Whitehead. However FUNimation has stated that Aaron will have a role later on.
Many of the other actors from the original series are returning to fill their old spots though, including: Vic Mignogna (Edward), Travis Willingham (Roy), Caitlin Glass (Winry), Colleen Clinkenbeard (Hawkeye/Rose), Christopher R. Sabat (Armstrong), Chris Patton (Greed), Laura Bailey (Lust), Chris Cason (Gluttony), Mike McFarland (Havoc), Sonny Strait (Hughes), Eric Vale (Kimblee) and a good number of others.
The US/English version of the series itself is set for a release in Spring 2010.
April 07 '09 -- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is all the talk around the water cooler these days and boy are there things to talk about! The series just pemeired in Japan on April 5th and FUNimation had made a deal with the Japanese companies to show English subtitled versions (on their site) just 5 days after they've aired in Japan and it's all free! This means we don't have to hunt down a fansub group and we get it legally! So keep an eye on the FUNimation website (www. funimation .com) on April 10th and get the first look at the NEW FmA: Brotherhood anime!
January 11 '09 -- For those still not in the know, a new series of Fullmetal Alchemist has been announced. Very little is known at this time, however the one thing we do know is it is set to air in Japan in April 2009.
At this time it is suspected that the series will follow the manga storyline rather then continuing where the first series/movie left off. This is NOT official and could very well be completely wrong.
At this time the manga is being printed one chapter per month with 91 chapters have been printed. Arakawa-san has said the manga will run a minimum of 100 chapters long.
August 21 '07 -- Another Fullmetal Alchemist Game for the Nintendo DS has been set for launch on September 11, 2007 at the bargan price of just $19.99. This game is a hand held, portable version of the Trading Card Game cleverly named Fullmetal Alchemist: Trading Card Game.
Destineer has no official page for the game but I have a link to the press release. I also have a link to IGN, which gives more info on the game itself: [link]
November 14 '06 -- On the video game front there is news of the Fullmetal Alchemist DS game finally making it's debue in the states.
Just in time for the Holiday season, Fullmetal Alchemist Dual Sympathy for the Nintendo DS will be released. It's to be released in December, but so far an offical date has not been stated, though most sites list it as the 14-16th.
I've misplaced the original, official link but here's the IGN news page: [link]
Still no offical word on Fullmetal Alchemist 3: Kami wo Tsugu Shoujo and Fullmetal Alchemist: Dream Carnival for Playstation 2 or Fullmetal Alchemist: Omoi De No Sonata and Fullmetal Alchemist: Meisou no Rondo for the Nintendo Game Boy Advanced.
The Special/Limited Edition of Conquror of Shamballa said NOTHING about containing the 4 OVA that were released after the movie. For what I know, the US hasn't even been able to license them at this time. It did however contain a bunch of extra commentary and behind the scenes that were not include in the original as well as some colored photos and a booklet(I believe)
(I only got a glance at it, didn't really get to look at it to much)
August 20, '06 -- The movie release dates have been changed. It's due to release in theaters on the 25 of August and the DVD will realease in early September (the date escapes me... sorries)
August 17, '06 -- FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST THE MOVIE
The Movie will be making it's way to select theathers on September 18 and the DVD will be released on September 26 along side Volume 13, the final Volume of the Fullmetal Alchemist series.
July 19, '06 -- Anime Expo has come and gone. I missed the event but apparently things didn't go quite as planned. Saddly Romi Paku was not able to attend the event as planned but none the less it was said to be a spectacular event.
June '06 -- FUNimation has announced that The Movie will be Premiere at AnimeExpo in California on July 3rd. It will be presented by both the Japanese and English Directors: Seiji Mizushima and Mike McFarland; As well as the Voice Actors for Edward Elric: Romi Paku and Vic Mignogna! (I envy anyone who gets to go... so wish I could be there).
